Jessamine Cottage Bed and Breakfast has a very real commitment to Green Management and Sustainability and
therefore understands the need to conserve water and has the following guidelines
•
Jessamine Cottage has a Strauss T6 Hot and Cool Water Dispenser on order so we will be able to reduce
our reliance on buying bottled water in the near future. and help conserve energy.

Keep water usage to the minimum
•
Only put as much water in a kettle as you need
•
Employ showers with reduced flow rates.
•
Reduced flow rate to wash basins
•
Install new wcs with small cisterns and dual flush systems
•
Try and clean your teeth without leaving the tap running. Many dentists and hygienists recommend that you
clean your teeth with a dry brush as this is more effective
•
Switch off lights and appliances when not in use
•
Rainwater run-off is kept for plant watering as much as possible
•
Newbury flint (gravel) used rather than concrete and asphalt for parking and external hard areas as rain
water percolates through it rather than going straight to drains where it just goes to the sea and is lost to the
local eco system.
